Marshawn Lynch Protests The National Anthem During White Terrorist Rally

Marshawn Lynch Sits During National Anthem of Raiders Preseason Opener

U.S National Football League star Marshawn Lynch, also known for not conforming to the typical interview model sports broadcasters expect of professional athletes and his activism in favor of "Africans" in the diaspora, remained seated while the national anthem was played during a pre-season game.

Lynch didn't speak publicly about the gesture after the game, which was his first since returning from retirement.

But while other teams are foolishly afraid of Kaepernick's potential distraction, Jack Del Rio says Lynch's decision to not stand for the anthem won't be an issue for the Raiders. You do your thing and we'll do ours.

Taking an apparent cue from Colin Kaepernick's oft-criticized protests from the 2016 season, Lynch ate a banana and did not stand in alignment with his teammates. "It's not a form of anything other than me being myself, '" Del Rio said Lynch told him. "So it's a non-issue for me".

In a time of controversy and racial tension in the United States, Lynch chose the flawless moment to sit during the national anthem.

On Twitter, the nine most circulated tweets Sunday morning were supportive of Lynch's protest. He added that he hopes "people open up their eyes and see that there's really a big problem going on and something needs to be done for it to stop". "If you're really not racist, then you won't see what he's doing as a threat to America, but just addressing a problem that we have". "I said, 'Just so you understand how I feel". Kaepernick did not stand for the anthem last season as a protest at racial injustice in the United States, and several other players followed his example. "I very strongly believe in standing for the national anthem, but I'm going to respect you as a man, you do your thing, okay, and we'll do ours'".

Last season, when it wasn't his player, Del Rio thought players should protest on their own time.
