Former Dolphins tackle Branden Albert wants to return to Jaguars

Jaguars Leonard Fournette is a 'beast,' says Fred Taylor

AP reporter Mark Long tweeted he'd be "shocked" if the Jaguars took Albert back after his unusual and surprising retirement last week.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that Albert didn't travel with the Jaguars to New England for the team's preseason opener, and that there are "lots moving parts" regarding Albert's future in Jacksonville. In theory, that's a pretty comfortable trip, as the Jags had to fly about two and a half hours into Boston and had most of the week to settle in before they play.

Left tackle Branden Albert has apparently changed his mind about retiring, which means the Miami Dolphins might not lose the 2018 seventh-round pick they acquired for trading Albert to the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason because of his abrupt retirement.

What this means is Jacksonville will keep Albert's rights, but it seems they're not interested in bringing back the 32-year-old.

Jacksonville head coach Doug Marrone discussed Albert's potential impact on the offensive front following the trade, per John Oehser of the team's official website: "Brandon is an experienced left tackle". He had five days to return to the team before going on the reserve/retired list or being released. After the 2015 season, Albert was chosen to play in the Pro Bowl for the second time in his career. He bounced back the following year and was honored with Miami's Ed Block Courage Award.
