Jarvis Landry under investigation for battery, Adam Gase confirms

Jarvis Landry

Adam Gase stated this morning that the Dolphins are aware of Jarvis Landry's report on his investigation for battery. A decision on possible charges is not expected to come this week.

Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry is reportedly under investigation for battery, according to a report from Andy Slater of 940 WINZ.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department has presented the case to the Broward County State Attorney's Office.

This report released on Monday definitely won't help Landry's case for a new contract with the Dolphins.

Landry and his girlfriend now have a paternity case pending in Broward County.

Cerqueira said that she did not call police, but that someone else did.

Cerqueira added that the couple is "happy raising" its daughter and made a plea "to the media that they refrain from spreading this completely false story". A police spokeswoman said the incident occurred in April.

Landry has an open paternity court case with his girlfriend in Broward.

Landry played for the Tigers from 2011-'13, catching 137 passes for 1,809 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The 24-year-old Landry, the Dolphins' second-round pick in 2014, has led Miami in receiving in his three seasons. He has been a star for the Dolphins, and holds the National Football League record for the most receptions in a player's first two seasons (with a current career total of 288 receptions).

"We're aware of it", Gase said. He is heading into the final year of his rookie contract.
