Chris Cornell's daughter performs tribute with OneRepublic

Music Coldplay Chris Martin Chester Bennington Mike Shinoda Linkin Park

Toni Cornell, 12, put on a courageous face this morning to honor her late father Chris Cornell and his friend Chester Bennington.

Toni appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" today (Aug. 4) and sang "Hallelujah" in a duet with One Republican frontman Ryan Tedder.

She was joined by OneRepublic at Central Park for this wonderful installment of the GMA Summer Concert series, and she amazingly managed to hold it together and belt out some flawless verses despite it being only two and half months since her father took his life.

"It's an honor to perform this for my dad and Chester and to sing for them", Toni said. It's the same song that Bennington performed at Chris Cornell's funeral.

Bennington sang "Hallelujah" at Cornell's funeral, and OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder said that one was of the reasons why they chose to perform the Leonard Cohen track. Bennington was found dead at his home in Palos Verdes, near Los Angeles, a week before the California alt-rock band was due to embark on its tour, starting on July 27 in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Chester was very close to Cornell, who himself committed suicide by hanging in May.

"Daddy, Let me start by saying how much I love you and how much you mean to me", Toni wrote.

If you are in crisis, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741-741.

Martin honoured the late singer by a solo piano performance of one of the earliest Linkin Park hits, "Crawling".
