Summer Phoenix files divorce from husband Casey Affleck

Casey Affleck's wife, Summer Phoenix, officially filed for divorce from the Oscar-winning actor on Tuesday. They got engaged in 2003 and tied the knot three years later.

Casey and Summer were introduced to each other by the latter's brother in the mid-1990s.

According to divorce papers filed by the "the Believer" actress, the couple actually separated in November 2015 due to irreconcilable differences and Phoenix has requested joint physical and legal custody of the children according to TMZ.

The former couple remained close to co-parent its sons IN, 12, and Atticus, nine, but now actress, model, and designer Summer has chose to move forward with divorce proceedings. In 2001, they both performed in the play This Is Our Youth with Matt Damon, another member of the Affleck pair's inner circle. She is also seeking spousal support. The two separated after more than 13 years together.

Casey told the publication that Summer 'was going out with someone else [at the time] and [he told Joaquin], "Man, she's cute"'.

Since then, Casey has displayed with Floriana Lima... especially for the Oscars.

It shows up the combine were not ready to work things out and Phoenix refered to "beyond reconciliation contrasts" in her separation recording.
