Chelsea want Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero to replace Diego Costa

Chelsea are still battling with the pains of missing out on a deal to sign Belgian worldwide Romelu Lukaku, and the Blues are now turning their attention to Aguero.

However, Sky Sports News understand it will be very hard for Antonio Conte and Chelsea to sign the striker from Manchester City who have "never sold a player they don't want to sell".

Both Guardiola and City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarek have always maintained that they did not want to sell the hugely-popular star. That surprise came just weeks after Conte told Diego Costa, the club's top scorer last season, that he would not be in his plans at Chelsea in the future. I've read a lot of the speculation on this and it's ridiculous.

Were it to happen, Sergio Aguero to Chelsea would be one of the biggest transfers ever seen in English football. There's never been a doubt about that. We are a team that aspires to win every competition we compete in.

But the Argentinean global could push for a move as there are doubts over whether he fits in to Pep Guardiola's system and he lost his place to Jesus Gabriel last season before the Brazilian got injured.

Over the past 24 hours, rumours of Sergio Aguero moving to Chelsea have seriously picked up.

They have been linked with an array of strikers although their primary target remains Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata. "It has never been in doubt", he added.

Aguero is on Chelsea's radar, with the Blues claimed to have strong interest in taking him to Stamford Bridge.

He has scored 169 times for City in six years, winning two Premier League titles in 2012 and 2014.
