Second person in custody in connection to quadruple murder

The Search for 4 Bucks County Missing Men: What We Know

Twenty-year-old Cosmo DiNardo of Bensalem has confessed to "participating in or committing" the killings, his attorney said.

DiNardo has been arrested twice since the young men, who knew each other, vanished last week.

"Other remains were found on a sprawling farm in suburban Philadelphia but they still needed to be identified", authorities said of the search in New Hope, according to the AP.

That all changed with a pair of stark revelations Thursday.

The details were provided after one of DiNardo's lawyers said Thursday that DiNardo had confessed to murdering the missing men, including a Maryland college student.

According to court papers filed Friday, the men told detectives the murders began on July 5 when DiNardo was supposed to sell Patrick four pounds of marijuana for $8,000 at his family's Solebury Township farm. The district attorney said he does not think any other people were involved in the four killings.

Lang told ABC News that DiNardo felt "deep remorse" and was "very emotional".

In exchange for the cooperation and confession, Defense attorney Paul Lange says prosecutors were taking the death penalty off the table.

NBC10's Keith Jones outlines the days that lead Cosmo DiNardo to confess to participation in the murders. Weintraub's office said he had "no response" to Lang's statements, and a briefing set for Thursday night was canceled.

Two nights later, on Friday July 7, Dinardo picked up his Northeast Philly cousin Sean Kratz and then Finocchiaro. This week, a prosecutor described him as mentally ill and schizophrenic. He was named a person of interest in the disappearances the next day, but he was released from custody after he posted a $1 million bail, 10 percent of which was paid in cash. As a law enforcement official escorted a shackled DiNardo from the courthouse on Thursday, he said "I'm sorry".

When they arrived, Dinardo said, Patrick had only $800, so Dinardo offered to sell him a shotgun for that amount, the affidavit says.

An attorney for Dinardo did not respond to a message seeking comment, and no one answered when a Washington Post reported visited the address listed for the 20-year-old in court filings. Investigators continue to dig and sift through dirt at the Solebury Township farm where the bodies were discovered.

Inside the farm, investigators have been at work digging deep into the ground. They drove him to Dinardo's family property at Lower York Road in Bucks County. Meo, 21, and Sturgis, 22, were friends and coworkers.

"We'd still be looking for Jimi Patrick had we not made this agreement", Weintraub said.

The fourth victim, 19-year-old Jimi Taro Patrick, was found buried in a different area of the property about a half-mile away. Dinardo picked up Kratz, his cousin, and the two drove to Finocchiaro's house and planned to rob him, the affidavit states.

Each victim has been positively identified, Weintraub said, and their family members were briefed on details of the case this morning.

In May, his last scheduled hearing was postponed because he had "medical issues", according to court records.

Police latched onto Dinardo after finding Meo's Nissan Altima and his diabetes kit on Dinardo's property.

The next day, Meo's mother reported him missing.

The back-to-back arrests bought investigators time as they scoured the farm and other spots across the county for clues to the men's disappearance, Weintraub said.
