Kyle Lowry staying in Toronto for $100 million

Miami Heat Rumors: Heat Interested in Veteran Big Man Serge Ibaka

Toronto Raptors forward Serge Ibaka posted a lengthy essay on social media Saturday night insinuating that critics who question the African-born player's birth date are xenophobic.

Serge Ibaka has been in the National Basketball Association for eight seasons, long enough to face the unforgiving glare of expectations and nitpicking analysis.

He did not divulge terms of the deal, although sources had pegged it at three years and somewhere around $90 million (all figures U.S.). The Magic would go on to trade that pick, the 25th in the draft, to the Philadelphia 76ers for Oklahoma City's 2020 first round pick and the worst of Brooklyn or New York's 2020 second rounders.

Ibaka didn't remain in Orlando for long, either.

Ibaka's new contract is easily the largest one he's ever signed. He averaged 14.2 points and 6.8 rebounds in 23 games with the Raptors.

The landing spots for a 31-year-old dried up rapidly even before the NBA's free-agency period opened overnight Friday, all but forcing Lowry's hand as he sought a high-paying, long-term deal. Still an athletic specimen, he shot 39 percent on four 3-point attempts per game last season, and he's only missed more than four games in a season once since his rookie year, making him an attractive power forward or center option in the pace-and-space era.

That said, on a more positive note, the length of the three-year deal is ideal.

Sharpshooter Kyle Korver agreed to sign a three-year, $22 million deal with the Cavs, per The Vertical's Shams Charania.

Nene crushed the Thunder during both this past regular season and playoffs. According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, the final season is partially guaranteed.
