What happened in Bill Cosby's sexual-assault trial

Bill Cosby arrives for his sexual assault trial at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown Pa. Monday

On Tuesday, Constand testified, "I was having to recall a lot of facts", adding that "it was very overwhelming".

As Bill Cosby's sexual-assault trial continues, allegations brought forth by accuser Andrea Constand have painted a terrifying picture of the 79-year-old comedian. She says he drugged her - leaving her nearly paralyzed - and then molested her.Cosby, once beloved by American audiences as the dad in the long-running TV hit "The Cosby Show" is not charged in the Johnson incident. Only in Constand's case has Cosby been charged.

Johnson testified that Cosby first wooed her and her parents-including her stepfather, a former Los Angeles Police Detective-then drugged and sexually assaulted her. Constand told her Cosby returned from the dinner table in his home that night and opened his hand to show her three blue pills.

Despite Cosby's actions, Constand said she did not feel threatened.

Constand has said she felt her friendship with Cosby was important to the school's athletics department.

Bill Cosby was missing a key supporter during Day 2 of his sexual assault trial Tuesday as the disgraced comedian arrived at court without his wife of 53 years - again.

Dozens of women have now come forward claiming the comedian drugged and sexually assaulted them as well.

"You knew Mr. Cosby was married, right?"

Before Tuesday, Ms Constand had never spoken about Cosby in public, barred from doing so under the terms of a confidential settlement they reached in 2006.

Cosby does not plan to testify, meaning the trial's outcome will likely hinge on whether jurors believe Constand's testimony. Cosby had attended Temple, and Constand had met him when she worked for the women's basketball team.

"She couldn't say no", Feden said. "Of course she was calling him back". "I trusted him. I wasn't scared of him in any way".

Constand said she soon lost consciousness but was eventually awakened by disturbing feelings. She said that, at the time, she felt Cosby was taking the time to introduce her to people because she was "a Canadian person in a new city". "I don't want that", Time magazine reported.

"In my head, I was trying to get my hands to move, my legs to move, but I was frozen", she testified at the entertainer's sexual assault trial.

"At some point he sat very close to me and commented on my trousers. I just pray for all parties involved because this isn't a great situation no matter what side of the coin you're on".

The defense questioned Constand's credibility pointing to phone records after the incident showing she called Cosby the same morning she contacted lawyers. Cosby, after listening to Constand testify for almost four hours, struck a light-hearted note as he left the courthouse.

The lawyer focused on about half a dozen calls of varying duration to Cosby's home in NY over a particular 24-hour period. Cosby is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Constand a.

But Constand said Wednesday she was merely returning his messages. I have no recollection until at some point later I was jolted awake... and I felt Mr. Cosby's hand groping my breasts under my shirt.

A few weeks later, Sewell said, Johnson disclosed that she had woken up next to Cosby in bed with her clothes askew.

When she asked if they were herbal, he nodded, she said. Miller, who represented William Morris in that case, said that he and an attorney for Johnson decided at the time not to prepare a transcript, because of the sensitivity of Johnson's testimony. Throughout all the questioning, she has consistently said there was no sexual contact on that prior occasion.
