Green stays in Game 4 after technical foul fiasco

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green reacts to a foul call during the first half of Game 4 of the basketball team's NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Cleveland Friday

"After calling the loose ball foul on Draymond Green, I noticed the reaction by Coach Kerr and then assessed a technical foul", Callahan said. "Don't seem to be the sharpest people".

Draymond Green loves to play the heel. So far, these Finals have mostly been lacking in fire; it required a counter punch before the drama could begin. And when you've got great teammates like I do who allow me to play with my emotions and be emotional when I'm talking to them, to use my emotions to the better for us, it's easy.

Green appeared to be ejected when he was called for what the Cavs and Warriors thought was his second technical midway through the third quarter. "But I thought I heard the announcer say, the PA announcer say that it was on Draymond".

When looking back on the moment that got him into trouble past year, he remains adamant on his feelings that the Warriors lost that series because of him, but shares a new perspective.

“We like the fact that we can correct a lot of things going into Game 5 and just put a better foot forward, especially in that first quarter and not lose the game right there, ” Curry said.

Considering Green was far more worked up about the foul than Kerr was, and he was closer to Callahan and John Goble for the majority of the altercation, it's hard to believe that the Warriors' coach earned the foul and not Green. (Lead official) Mike Callahan came up to John (Goble) and asked him who was the tech on and he said Kerr.

"I take full responsibility for that", Callahan said.

"They're fine, it happens every year", Green said, according to video captured by Sports Illustrated.

The visiting Cavaliers won game five with Green watching on TV from a luxury box in the baseball stadium beside the arena, awaiting a celebration that would never come.

"I know Dray's a warrior", Thompson said.

The odd part is that nobody ever bothered clarifying the foul until after Green picked his up for real in the third quarter. That gave him an accumulation of flagrant foul points and forced him to sit out Game 5 as the Warriors lost their chance to clinch the series, and they eventually fell in seven games.

"I really didn't pay much attention", Green said.
