Cavs, Warriors NBA Finals ticket market strong despite repetitive matchup

This NBA Championship will not be a four or five-game series.

This image has quickly gone viral and is sporadically trending on Twitter. One of King James' most aggravating moments came with 1:28 left in the third quarter.

The Cleveland Cavaliers would love to steal home court and tie up this series at 1-1 with a victory.

Even if you were rooting against it, you can't deny that the Warriors and Cavaliers meeting in the NBA Finals for the third straight year will be a show beyond any other.

Durant is averaging 25.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 blocked shots a game in the Warriors' flawless playoff start. The Cavaliers won past year, after a one-game suspension of Draymond Green unsettled the Warriors, who ultimately bricked a 3-1 lead.

Stephen Curry completely understands the rubber-match nature of the 2017 NBA Finals. Meanwhile, LeBron James wants to cushion his position as basketball's most unstoppable force while also cementing his legacy.

"Our chemistry is getting better and better", Durant said. Yikes. If they need any motivation to win, all they have to do is remember Game 5 of the 2016 Finals. The players have a deep rooted loyalty for their franchise, which makes a win all the more important to each individual.

Not since the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s has the NBA seen a rivalry so intense, this one involving seven of the past eight NBA Most Valuable Player award winners in James with four, Curry with two and Durant with one. Or so Kevin Durant and Steph Curry said after last night's game.

Appearing on ESPN's The Jump today, Scottie Pippen downplayed the impact Curry may have on the series, saying he isn't as "dominant" a player his teammate Kevin Durant or LeBron James.

Before the game, Warriors coach Mike Brown, who continued filling in for Steve Kerr who is battling back surgery complications, said there would be no surprises. After a Cavs turnover - one of their 20 - Durant sank a 3-pointer, turned to the crowd and soaked in the adoration as Cleveland turned to a timeout, down, 105-84.

As the best player on the best regular-season team the National Basketball Association has ever season, Curry was part of the biggest collapse in league history. Dallas didn't disappoint the multitude of haters, winning the series in six, cementing Nowitzki's place among the all-time greats and further fueling undeserved schadenfreude toward James. "We're trying to take what they took from us previous year".

And boy did they feel it, the Warriors lost by 15 and allowed LeBron and Kyrie to both score 41 points.

Irving has played great through the Cavs' walloping of the Eastern Conference, as has Kevin Love, who is having his best postseason campaign since joining Cleveland. I've got to play it by ear - if I'm feeling good I should coach and if I'm not feeling up to it, then I shouldn't. James has called Golden State a "juggernaut" but the Warriors aren't buying all that talk.
