Hillary Clinton Roasts Donald Trump in Wellesley College Commencement Speech

Protesters in Bethlehem as US President Donald Trump visits Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas at the Presidential Palace

Clinton, who returned to her alma mater at Wellesley College in MA yesterday to give a commencement speech 48 years after she graduated, referred to the mood on the campus following Nixon's election as President in 1968.

"We were furious about the past presidential election of a man whose presidency would eventually end in disgrace with his impeachment for obstruction of justice", she said, pausing to note she was referring to Nixon.

Clinton was referencing the ongoing FBI investigation into alleged ties between members of Trump's campaign and Russians that attempted to hack the USA presidential election, reports the CNN.

"When people in power invent their own facts and attack those who question them, it can mark the beginning of the end of a free society".

"It is an attack of unimaginable cruelty on the most vulnerable among us", Clinton told a crowd at the all-women's college, located in Boston's suburbs.

"It's often during the darkest times that you can do the most good", Clinton said, later adding, "Don't be afraid of your dreams, your ambitions, or even your anger - those are powerful forces, but harness them to make a difference in the world".

For example, for the majority of her campaign, Clinton was under investigation by the FBI for using a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state. I just thought we had to get through this with a level of dignity and integrity, and there'd be plenty of time to try to figure out what went wrong and what we could have done differently, but for that moment we just had to stick to the ritualistic process: Okay, when I was sure, I have to call Trump.

The student speaker, Tala Nashawati - a Middle Eastern Studies major from OH and the daughter of two Syrian immigrants - quoted from Clinton's concession speech to Trump. "You may have heard that things didn't exactly go the way I planned", she said Friday.

"Long walks in the woods".

Proving once and for all that Hillary Clinton is a girl after our own heart, the politician has revealed that wine helped her navigate the tricky period following last November's election. I won't lie: "Chardonnay helped a little too", she said. At this point, she's essentially wading back into the political fray - and taking direct shots at the sitting president.

"The challenge now is to practice politics as the art of making what appears to be impossible, possible", she said.

"Get to know your elected officials".

"There will be trolls galore online and in person, they will be eager to tell you you don't have anything worthwhile to say or contribute", she said, then added with a smile, "they may even call you a nasty woman".

It was heavy where it needed to be, but for the most part light-hearted; Clinton even took a whack at humor, poking fun at her shocking presidential loss, and how she made the most of it. 'It was a really painful cry to his hard-core supporters that he wasn't changing, ' she says. But you know what? And despite her loss past year to Trump, Clinton still wholeheartedly believes in graduates' ability to make change.

This doesn't seem like Clinton dipping her toe back into public life.
