Flynn toldDonald McGahn, the chief lawyer for the Trump transition team, about the federal investigation into his Turkey dealings on January 4, weeks before Trump removed him from his national security post, the Timesreported.

CNN also reported White House lawyers started preparing for possibility of Trump's impeachment.

Trump ignored Obama's warning and hired Flynn as his national security adviser anyway, but it didn't take long until it became obvious that it was not such a good idea.
One more Flynn tidbit has dropped (so far). Trump is someone who prizes loyalty above all else.
Michael Ledeen, an associate of Flynn, told the website that the retired general was reluctant to join the Trump administration.
Prioritizing loyalty and military service is, of course, Trump's right.
Flynn went on to say the Trump administration would revisit the sanctions imposed since Russian Federation annexed Crimea in 2014, the sources said, and Putin followed his advice, announcing the next day that he would not retaliate. Everyone sees that. Everyone, it seems, except Trump.
