Bobby Moynihan leaving 'Saturday Night Live' for CBS sitcom

The longtime cast member is departing the series after nine seasons on the NBC sketch show, a source close to the show confirmed to CNN. After completing his seven-year contract on SNL, Moynihan scored a two-year extension and had previously planned to leave after this current season.

The moment that Bobby Moynihan's Me, Myself & I pilot was picked up by CBS, it was clear that his Saturday Night Live days were numbered.

Bobby Moynihan is taking his final bow on "Saturday Night Live" this week.

Me, Myself & I is a single-camera comedy that follows a man's life over fifty years, with Moynihan playing him at age forty.

Moynihan joked about his complicated schedule at Wednesday's CBS upfront presentation, explaining that he had to get back to rehearsals because "you do not want to keep the Rock waiting". Moynihan, Larroquette and Jack Dylan Grazer will star as one character at different points in his life.

Beyond characters like the blubbering "Drunk Uncle", Moynihan regularly parodied Chris Christie during the 2016 presidential campaign until a certain someone became the official Republican nominee. It's hard to rank favorite cast members, but routinely he's probably the one we've loved the most over the past five or six years in terms of consistently offering some laughs.
