Netflix trials higher price when signing up at the weekend

It was revealed that the title of the series is "Tidelands", along with its writers and creators.

One of Tidelands' creators, Tracey Robertson, expressed her excitement at the new project and partnership with Netflix. That's because Wall Street expects some price increase eventually and revenue is needed to allow Netflix to continue creating content for its worldwide audience, says Sozzi, is also the former CEO and chief equities strategist for Belus Capital Advisors.

"The primeval landscapes of Queensland are a ideal setting to tell the story of betrayal, small-town secrets, ancient mythology and, when it comes to family, explore whether blood really is thicker than water". She further hinted about the series' plot, saying the location would be flawless in exploring whether blood is thicker than water.

In June, Netflix's chief content officer, Ted Sarandos, intimated the service was looking to invest in local content. "Australia has such a rich production infrastructure and great talent, both in front of and behind the camera".

'Congrats to the team at Hoodlum who are creating the first original Aussie Netflix series, ' another said.

Netflix has announced on Tuesday the first ever Australian-made original drama series for the global streaming service while speculation about a price hike for Australian users continues.

The series, which will debut exclusively on Netflix around the globe, follows a former criminal as she returns home to a small fishing village called Orphelin Bay. One of these is a group of risky half-humans. However could that also eventually be applied to streaming services such as Netflix? These include supernatural drama "Glitch" and children's shows "Kazoops" and "Beat Bugs".

It is claimed the trial, which only affects a small number of users for now, could result in subscribers paying up to 20% more for the TV and film service if they watch on the weekend.

Netflix made it clear to Mashable that no one has been charged an extra fee and that no announcement has been made - it was simply a user test on the service.

"We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time", a Netflix spokesperson.
