Delhi BJP to lodge complaint with EC against AAP

In the Assembly today, AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj staged a "live demonstration" on how electronic voting machines can be programmed to favour any political party.

- In the Delhi Assembly, Saurabh Bhardwaj resets EVM and demonstrates how the very same machine, which passes the mock test, is manipulated during actual polls.

Amid an intense debate on whether EVMs were tamper-proof, the AAP today "demonstrated" in the state Assembly how the vote machines could be rigged, a claim trashed by the Election Commission, which said a "duplicate" gadget was hacked.

Bhardwaj said every constituency has a different secret code which is entered into the EVM around 10 am.

If Kejriwal does not trust EVMs, then it meant that the 2015 polls were also a farce-in which case, all 66 AAP MLAs should resign and fresh elections should be held- if not, Kejriwal should resign and contest against me in any seat of his choice in an election held with paper ballots, Mishra added. And we all saw on TV that how in Bhind, in front of journalists, DM, and candidates, any button which was pressed was showing only BJP's ticket.

Giving an example of a municipal ward in Chattarpur area where Aam Aadmi Party candidate lost by two votes, Sisodia said there was a difference in the number of polled votes as per the data shared by the Election Commission and the data from the EVM machines.

"Kejriwal has been rattled by the bribe charge made against him by his sacked water minister Kapil Mishra, and the special session of the assembly seemed to have been convened to divert the attention of the people from the corruption charges against him", he said. "The person (brother-in-law) who has died, he is making allegation about a man who is dead", Jain said.

"The base of our democracy is the electoral process".

Kejriwal has not spoken about the charges made by Mishra.

- Just give us one EVM and we will find out if it can be tampered or not. "He should have demonstrated this in front of the election commission".

Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva issued notice to the Centre, Delhi government and the lieutenant governor and Congress leader Ajay Maken seeking their stand on the petition filed by AAP against the payment demand.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said today that Mishra has given three complaints relating to bribery and irregularities against functionaries of the Delhi government. "We also talked about the corruption prevailing in the Delhi government.", Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi assembly Vijender Gupta told reporters after meeting Baijal.
