Apple's Reported 'iPhone 8' Might Not Be Delayed After All

Further rumours have suggested that Apple are doing all they can to make the new iPhone 8 family, after all there reportedly three versions, something exceptional.

According to a report from the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) ( via Digitimes), there will no delay for the launch of the next-generation iPhone 8 and iPhone 7s. The Cupertino giant releases a new premium iPhone every year, and this year it's going to be the iPhone 8. Usually, new Apple handsets hit store shelves in September.

The iPhone 8 might also feature aluminum sides with a glass made back.

The report goes on to say that major Apple suppliers, such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (NYSE: TSM), which is said to be responsible for the manufacture of Apple's upcoming A11 chip, "are ready to ramp up related iPhone parts starting in June". According to him, the iPhone 8 would sport a 5.855-inch display rather than an edge-to-edge display.

However, this report quells any discrepancies in terms of their launch periods and issues a uniform schedule for all anticipated devices. Exciting leaks, rumors and speculations that are spreading online about the iPhone 8 are also causing its predecessor's sales to drop. The Chipmaker has taken its case to International Trade Commission (ITC) to get a ban on Apple products from entering the premises of US. Report claims that the iPhone 8 will be using an L-shaped battery to improve its battery capacity by 30 percent. Additionally, assemblers Foxconn Electronics, Winstron and Pegatron are accelerating recruitment and training efforts ahead of mass production. Apple iPhones on the other hand, are particularly popular among the youth who are charmed by its class and see it a symbol of opulence. Some reports have claimed it could out it on the back of the device, much as Samsung has done with the Galaxy S8.

Following this report, a designer Benjamin Geskin came up with a concept iPhone 8 based on the diagrams shown by CLSA. One of the most awaited features of the iPhone 8 is the possibility of wireless charging along with a front-facing camera that supports 3D sensing and facial recognition as well.

A JPMorgan analyst (via 9To5Mac) suggests that the OLED display will be edge-to-edge only horizontally and not vertically.
