UK's Labour pledges new Brexit strategy if it wins election

The opposition Labour Party is trying to turn Britain's election into a tale of two Brexits.

Among a Labour government's first moves in the negotiations would be to tell European Union citizens living in the United Kingdom they could keep all their current rights after Brexit-a break with May's strategy of waiting for a the same guarantee about the rights of United Kingdom citizens on the continent before doing so.

It is a rigid approach.

"She has said repeatedly no deal is better than a bad deal, but Labour are very clear that no deal is the worst possible deal".

Sign up for the online chat with Air Force Deputy CIO Bill Marion II on May 9, at 10 a.m. (EDT).

She said: "We want to get votes and support here in Wales because that would strengthen my hand in the Brexit negotiations".

"Labour's White Paper will have a strong emphasis on retaining the benefits of the Single Market and the Customs Union as we know that is vital to protecting jobs and the economy", he said. "And they should not be used as bargaining chips", Labour's Brexit spokesman Keir Starmer will say in a speech in London, according to advance excerpts.

'And people have really got to understand the difference between the single market and a free trade agreement - one is the Champions League the other is League One'.

"Again at the weekend, we saw him refusing to say he would strike against terrorism, refusing to commit to our nuclear deterrent and refusing to control our borders.

Day one, big commitment".

Hiring freeze or thaw?

That has caused many to suggest she is using millions of European Union citizens in Britain - some who have lived in the country for years - as bargaining chips in talks set to test even the most experienced negotiators with their complexity.

Labour would also replace the Conservatives' "great repeal bill", created to bring EU laws onto the United Kingdom books, with an "EU Rights and Protections Bill".

During Mr Corbyn's leadership campaign previous year, Mr Cash said: "Critics of Jeremy Corbyn are insulting the intelligence of voters and alienating millions of Labour supporters". Jeremy Corbyn overcame odds of 200-1 against him by winning Labour's bitter leadership battle a year ago, May noted.

European Parliament chief Antonio Tajani said that he believed the elections are not only good for the United Kingdom, but also the EU since it would mean negotiations would be conducted with the same government through the span of the divorce process.

May hit back, pointing out house-building starts fell by 45% under the last Labour government, and said twice as many council homes had been built under the Tories.
