Worker kills supervisor in shooting at Dallas office building

Assistant Police Chief Randy Blankenbaker said in a subsequent news conference Monday afternoon that a man entered the building, killed a woman who was his supervisor and then turned the gun on himself.

People were evacuated from the building, while heavily armed police were seen running on streets near the building.

WFAA-TV is reporting that the shooting happened just after 10 a.m. this morning and that witnesses report that a man shot his boss, then holed up in an office before shooting himself.

Pictures from the scene show one of the windows of the building were cracked/broken, possibly from the gunfire.

Police have provided no other details, including whether any shots have been fired or any injuries were reported in emergency calls.

Workers of the building were evacuated and Hannah Greenhaw was one of them.

Officers evacuated and searched the building to make sure there were no more suspects.

One police officer was injured by debris at the scene, though no one else suffered life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to an active-shooter situation at about 10:45 a.m.in a building near Interstate 635 and US 75, said Randy Blankenbaker, a Dallas assistant police chief, at a news conference Monday afternoon.

Real estate investor Tim Herriage was at work on the 11th floor of the Executive Center in Dallas, Texas, when he heard shots. "Probably about six minutes goes by and a police officer, a couple actually, came up to grab us".

Mary Jo Nsuk, who works on the 10th floor, heard a commotion coming from below and heard police say, "Come out with your hands up". "They protected people with shields and a cop was facing backwards when they were trying to get us downstairs".

Two employees inside the office building described their experiences inside the office building as the situation unfolded.
